Val - thank you!

Thanks so much for the Costco reusable bag (LOVE IT) and all the clothes that you brought over in it!! Sam and Abby had so much fun going through it all this morning and you may have noticed Sam is wearing some of them in the pictures - he chose his outfit today lol not sure it quite hoes together but he picked it so there you go :) In fact I think the pants are too long for him as I think they are supposed to be shorter really! Liked cropped!!

Abigail said the clothes smelled different to her clothes and you know how picky kids can be so I asked her if she wanted me to wash them and she said no way because they smell 'nice different' lol! So whoever washed them Abigail prefers their washing detergent ;) It does smell good I have to admit!!!

Sam marched around in a Winnie the Pooh sweater for ages before setting on Spongebob!

Thank you :) Sams room looks a bit like a teenagers bedroom this afternoon with clothes strewn everywhere!

Watering the flower bed....

Abigail watering her catnip and Susies Lupine. And also Abigail watering her cherry blossom tree (she won two of these on Earth Day two years ago at Hawrelak Park).

Sam watering his Sunflower.

My orange Iris flowered today!

Both Irises are now flowering.....and of course Jasper had to get in on the act......he has to follow us everywhere we go!

A flower for Mommy.....

Taking a rest from watering the tubs....

As you can see I have some grass growing where I seeded but I've been lazy with my watering some days...and some day lilies have popped up and I haven't the heart to kill them.......I am overrun with lilies here...millions of them. They'll get mown up soon or whenever or dug up and moved but for now I will leave them to flower....

Congratulations Louise!!!!

We did it!

Congratulations to Louise who took part in the Moonwalk for Cancer Research in England at the weekend. Louise and I were in the same class at Junior High (up to age 16) and is pictured above on the left.:

We walked the 13.1 miles in 3hrs 20 mins which we were really pleased with! Awful photo, doesnt help that my sister in law is young, slim and just got back from mexico with a sickening tan!!! But we walked the first 3 miles in our bras and then gave in to t-shirts!Kept warm tho as got a good pace going although the last mile took forever and I am sure it was more like 2!! Felt a bit of a cheat tho as lots and lots of woman doing the full moon at 26.2 miles....good on them and maybe one year I might be up for it............

Have just got home after picking up the boys from my brothers, 2 tired boys but have had a great weekend with their cousins. Its time for a long soak tonight, followed by a chinese and a glass of wine.....I burnt the calories off already last night!!

Great experience tho tinged with sadness as Beth was doing it with sarah this time last year.

Louise

Well done Louise :) You did it :) How do you feel?

Victoria Day Weekend

I can't believe the weekend is over :( How come three day weekends go so fast? Lloyd woke me up this morning with coffee and at least he was able to have coffee with me before he left for work :(

Our weekend was kind of all over the place because of the kids.....we thought we had set plans but then the kids plans kept changing so our plans kept changing. Luckily there was nothing we had to do at set times so it all worked out in the end and we managed to do everything we wanted to to do :)

Laurence spent most of the weekend (two nights) in town at his friends home and went to see Prince Caspian at the movies. We went to the funfair at Millwoods. Chris went to the cinema with a friend and the funfair with us....he also got his phone and was happy....

Lloyd and I did gardening, did the hive inspections on the bees, lots of relaxing, nice walks with the dogs, playing outside, went to Dairy Queen where I was VERY bad and had a Brownie Earthquake and enjoyed every mouthful thank you very much :) I can eat it guilt free when the rest of the day I barely eat lol. Last night Lloyd made me weetabix at 10pm because we realised I hadn't had enough to eat during the day. These tablets are so weird.

Yesterday Val and her lovely family came over for a while. I hope they had as good a time as we did! The children always play so well together! A little too well together sometimes - in the end they ended up having a big water fight - thankfully just as the evening wrapped up and it was home time! Laurence got dropped in the pool fully clothed (twice! Two different outfits) and then Vals Son T did!!) but they were all good sports!!! We had the firebowl going (thankfully the fire ban allows fires within special firebowls that have lids) so we were able to have Smores - and we had some yummy desserts too......

I promised Val some plants for her garden and said to bring a large container.....of course her idea of large and my idea of large are completely different hahahahaha and the amount of day lilies I gave her would NOT fit in her containers.....(or her garden I am thinking lol and James was asking WHERE are we going to put all these??????

oops!!!

The kids were playing on the bikes and basketball and we sat around the firebowl chatting and it was just a nice relaxing evening :) Thanks Val and James for coming over :)

Poor J (Vals Daughter) ended up having an asthma attack last night though brought on from allergies maybe from the trees in the area and the smoke etc so that meant a hospital visit. She's doing better this morning thankfully! But we send her lots of love and get well wishes!!!!

And so today is a work day and a school day here. Laurence isn't at school as he had a migraine this morning - too many late nights at his friends house mixed in with a change in the weather - theres a low coming in - maybe some thunder storms this evening and some rain coming in tomorrow after all this hot weather we have had over the weekend.....so he is home for the day. Sam is full of either a cough and cold or allergies from all the trees and blossom that is finally out there, so he isn't at preschool today.

So after I finish catching up with my blog I plan to relax and finish my book 'The Secret Life of Bees' which has taken me ages to read - FANTASTIC book (thanks Heather for recommending it) I just never seem to have much time once the good weather is here.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Laurie and Jasper

Laurie cuddling Jasper....sweet angelic moment......awwwwwww!!!

Two seconds later Jasper attacked Laurie and Laurie threw the cat :)

Sweet angelic moment no more :)

On the porch

I caught this candid shot yesterday - there is no way Chris would have LET me take a piccy of him cuddling his sister so I took it quickly!!!!

Yesterday Chris got his own cell phone! He was going to get one for his birthday - he goes to high school in the Fall and because it will be in downtown Edmonton, we said he could finally have his own cell phone. He's wanted one for ages. I don't agree with teenagers his age having one - I don't see the need or the point BUT he is paying for it - he is earning the money and he KNOWS that it remains a privilege that can and will be removed for bad behaviour. So with that in mind, he and his Dad went into town yesterday and got him his phone (after getting him to do all the research etc etc and he had to prove to us he had done all of that and then Lloyd and he went in and spoke to them all in the store).

Anyway, needless to say, Chris was one very happy bunny yesterday and his phone got a lot of use last night and to be honest there won't be much phone left by the end of the week because he will have polished much of it away!

I till don't agree with him having a phone but we will see how it goes - I do think it will be of benefit once he gets t high school - if it lasts that long - our children aren't known for being great at looking after small electronic gadgets.....nothing like that lasts in this house! So we shall see!

Best friends

Cairo and Jasper fell sleep holding paws on the porch last night. I couldn't resist taking a picture or two!!!
