For Lloyds Mom...

To prove he really does smile sometimes ;)

Actually he was very smiley yesterday....I think it was the fact that many of the plants at the Muttart look rude......or maybe thats just us and our dirty minds ;)

For instance:

This is 'Old Man Cactus' and...well...lets just say to me 'he' needs to see a doctor......and if that's what Lloyd looks like when he is old, well he won't be coming anywhere near ME!!!! Thats for sure ;)

Ruby slipper...

Starry special!

Speechless!

Ivory delight....

Return to the Muttart...

The Muttart Conservatory reopened a couple of weeks ago after being closed for about 18 months for renovations. I had waited patiently to go there and look around as I love to go there and had wanted to go as soon as they reopened but alas we didn't have time, so I waited and finally yesterday we were able to go. Lloyd and I went there for lunch and strolled around together for a couple of hours.

I can't say I was overly impressed with the renovations really. The courtyard is quite nice and it's good that you can now get to the store and cafe without having to pay admission - but I'm not sure that was worth closing for 18 months. I don't think the changes to the pyramids themselves are dramatic - and I was VERY disappointed in the show pyramid. It was AWFUL!! The fish statue in the centre was just tacky and ugly, and the flowers in there were so boring! Surely they could have done something MUCH more dramatic for their grand opening after soooooo LONG!! Shame :( There were a few subtle changes here and there that I liked....and it was good to be back.

We had a lovely time - we had lunch in the cafe - the guys working behind there messed up my order totally and were completely useless but in the end my food was delicious and to be honest they weren't much older than my oldest Son, and I can imagine what he would be like if he was working with a friend in a cafe ;)

It was a lovely time anyway...good to be back there...the gift store there is as gorgeous as always - so if you need any little gifts - stocking fillers etc etc - then just stop in on your way by!!! Also a nice place to meet for lunch!!!

Singin' jazz......

Lloyd has joined a band and is now singing with Bass on a Friday night......The Cod Father of Jazz ;)

They had their first gig at the Muttart yesterday.....

:)

This mornings visitor

Sam spotted this little cherub running through our front yard this morning.....over towards the fire pit and then round by Lloyds workshop. I snapped these pictures from my bedroom window. Sam asked if it was worth a dollar for spotting it ;) (we pay money for spotting animals worth photographing - ie. a moose is worth $5. and a bear would be worth $10 or more!!!!)

Abigails Summer Camp....

Yesterday was Abigails last day at Summer camp....in the end she only went 3 days out of 5 BUT she DID go horse riding for the day on Wednesday which is the whole reason I sent her on this camp (she's soooo horse mad right now) and so I think it was worth every penny. She had soooooo much fun yesterday on the last day - they had a big water fight in the park and all had freezies. They made horse puppets as a craft. They played a game that she was telling me all about...and now I've forgotten the name of it but it sounded so much fun :)

The two days she didn't go reminded me WHY she is homeschooled though - and I am glad I have made the decision to homeschool her again next year! She had a lot of fun at Summer camp this week but it was quite stressful to get her there on the three days she went and to do decide whether to take her each day. She isn't ready for school.

Pretty in pink...

This boy of mine......

This boy of mine seems to be on a mission this Summer. I'm not sure what the mission is exactly. Whether it's to kill himself or to just earn as much money as possible, but he now has THREE jobs!!!

Yesterday he worked one job all day. He was painting on an acreage ALL day and came home at 5pm COVERED in a black oily paint! Literally COVERED!!! As you can see! His clothes had to be soaked (have they never heard of OVERALLS?????)

He showered and dressed in to his golf club uniform and then cycled off to the golf club where he started work at 6pm and worked until 10pm where he closed. He came home and ate quickly and asked for come beers to take to his friends how where he was sleeping over (hahahahaha uh NO Chris...you're not quite SIXTEEN) and then he cycled off to his friends house where he slept over. He was back here by 8:30 am and is probably asleep in his room after glugging coffee and is off to a party tonight as he has the weekend off and is back at work on Monday!!!

It's great to see Chris so busy with a mix of work, rest and play this Summer - seems like he's having a GREAT Summer and he has his Summer camp to look forward to in a few weeks too - and his Sweet Sixteen party in August!

Keep up the great work Chris!!!
