Tranquility.....

Chocolate Fondue...

I bought a mini fondue set in Canmore as I thought it would be fu to use it one night in the hotel room - it WAS!!!! We had a big plate of mixed fruit and a big plate of angel food cake and some marshmallows, and the children had a blast dipping it all in to the melted chocolate......

.....ok I had a little too ;) My favourite was the melon!!! Mmmmmm!!! It was yummy, messy FUN!!!!!

snapshots of Chris....

Difficult to get any pictures of Chris as he doesn't like to have his picture taken (lol) but here he is returning from his shopping trip around Canmore.....and BOY did he shop!!!! And he came back with the funniest things - I swear they saw him coming and talked him into the most crazy things!!! He bought hemp capsules and hemp seeds because they told him all about their health properties......sigh.......

And yes hemp seeds are great for you - very healthy...but as I explained to him as he tucked into his burger and fries that night (instead of joining us in the pool) it matters what ELSE he puts in his body too!!!!! lol!!! What was the point????? ;)

Candy Shoppe..

Waiting outside of the candy store with their little bags of treats!!! Laurence and Susie were still busy choosing! It is their favourite store to visit when we head to Canmore!! Lloyd was busy reading the real estate paper he had picked up. Every time we head to Canmore we fall in love with the area again and want to buy a place there. we now have two sets of friends with holiday homes there. We would LOVE to have a place there for weekends and somewhere I could spend the summers with the kids. I'm not so much in to the winter sports but the kids would probably love it! So we think about it every time we go......it's tempting for sure....

In the Rose and Crown Beer Garden....

Cooling off with drinks at the Rose and Crown in Canmore.....a NOT very English style 'English' pub hahahahaha! It was HOT in Canmore that day!!! We soon met up with Chris and headed to some lakes around Banff to cool off!!! :)

Canmore town river walk....

It was ridiculously hot this day - to the point that we gave up on the walk and headed for the Rose and Crown pub where we sat in the beer garden and drank coolers in the shade for a couple of hours waiting for Chris to finish shopping.....

Big Head = big boogers!!!! ;)

Outside Banff Upper Hot Springs....

We paddled in the little pool outside of the hot springs...we were going to go into the hot springs, but the weather was sooooo hot (28c that day) that we couldn't bring ourselves to sit in a hot pool for long, so we drove up to the gift store for the kids and we paddled in the little pool until our feet were all soft and then we headed into town for dinner at the Keg instead :)

The water in the little pool is soooo hot and makes your skin incredibly soft - like a natural hot tub :) The natural minerals and salts in the waters are sooooo good for you! Maybe when we go back it will be cooler and we can head to the bigger pool properly! You just have to ignore the smell because the waters smell like bad eggs ;) hahaha thats the downside ;) Of course we all blamed Laurence for THAT ;)

Pictures from Bow Falls, Banff.....

We played in the river at the base of the falls for a while...Lloyd took Abigail up to the top of the Falls while I stayed at the bottom as Sam just wanted to play in the water. The older ones were pottering about here and there too....enjoying the Falls, the coolness of the water on such a hot day and relaxing after our hike of the day and swimming from the morning :)

King of the river!!!
