Winter pathway...

It's been bitterly cold here this weekend.  Yesterday was something like -27c and this morning got to
-43c!!!!  Thats BEFORE any windchill!!  In fact at one point this morning Edmonton was the coldest city in Canada!!  Fabulous!!!  :(  STill, it IS beautiful and sunny outside!!!!

Val!!!

Guess what we spotted in Save On Foods!!!!  Lol!!  So we were joking that you didn't really go to Hawaii after all and those pictures really WERE taken at Miquelon Lake with plastic palm trees ;)

Too funny!

lunch at Joeys

In Joeys they had this funny book on the table with the drinks menu/ dessert menu and it also had had funny 'guides to life' in it - there was a window on the front so you could pretend to read the book but really look around the restaurant and 'eye up' other people ;)  There were pages on how to get in to your home if you forget your keys and how to get out of a bad date - and how to survive a first date ;)

This is a pic of Lloyd reading it over coffee ;)

West Edmonton Mall...

Yesterday Lloyd and I had to be up and out early as Christopher had to be at the Legislature for 8:30am. Chris was taking part in a 'Mock Legislature' and was the Minister for Children and Youth Services (in place of Janis Tarchuk).

Lloyd and I headed for breakfast after dropping Lloyd off, and then to Michaels to pick up a new paper trimmer, and then we got to West Edmonton Mall nice and early before the parking lot started filling up. Several of the stores were already open though which was a nice surprise, so we wandered around while the mall was empty and looked in Bombay and Sears etc....

Lloyd got himself a lovely new sports jacket in Harry's and we said goodbye to our sales girl Kim, who is taking a year off to have baby boy.

We went for coffee and enjoyed the Christmas decorations....generally passing a few hours window shopping, oh and I picked up my favourite 'Warm Milk and Honey' body wash at Bath and Body Works - it was on special too :)

Then we headed to Joeys downtown for a late lunch, took a drive through Glenora and enjoyed the snowy, Christmasy view before heading to pick Chris up after his day.  We parked in the Legislature and walked up to the Leg (escorted by a cop lol) and went inside to take some pictures of the decorations.

Our evening was spent relaxing at home watching Elf by the fire, with the kids eating candy canes.....Laurence went to a birthday party and slept over.
